Human Design Type
Your Time Bender child
A fast mover with energy for everything, who finds the quickest way to learn and do.
In classic Human Design this Type is called the Manifesting Generator. Quman uses the Quantum Human Design™ name.
Time Benders combine the Initiator and the Alchemist. They respond quickly to what's around them, often do several things at once, and tend to skip steps they don't need. They usually have more energy than anyone else in the house.
How they decide
They wait for something to respond to, check their gut yes or no, then tell the people affected. Younger children ask permission instead of telling.
Try: Ask yes/no questions, and keep track of whether they're at the asking-permission or telling-you stage for each thing.
What makes them feel loved
To be told what's happening. Changes without warning feel jarring and can make them feel less loved.
What helps
- Yes/no questions for almost everything.
- Let them run several projects at once.
- When something doesn't work out, ask what they learned.
- Let them skip steps they understand. Ask if a skipped step needs fixing.
What to avoid
- Making them repeat every skipped step.
- Calling unfinished projects failures. They learned what they needed, or it wasn't right for them.
- Rules they can see are pointless. This can make them push back hard against authority, especially as teens.
When they're discouraged
What it looks like: Frustration with an edge of anger, which can look intense.
What it usually means: Constant anger often means they feel controlled or interrupted. Constant frustration often means they're doing things that don't fit them, or they need help understanding their energy.
How to talk to them
Use: Yes/no questions, and advance notice. Avoid: Long open-ended conversations. They usually want to plan and get moving.
A project didn't work out. Try saying:
You must have learned something there.
What did you learn?
Type is one part of your child's chart
Two Time Bender children can still be very different. Your child's report adds the rest of their chart and their age:
- How they make decisions, from their own chart
- Their profile and all nine centers: where they're steady and where they pick up the mood of the house
- What's normal at their age right now
- 3 scripts matched to their Type, and 3 Ask questions for this week's problems
Human Design isn't backed by scientific studies. Use this as a way to try something different, then trust what you see in your own child.
