Human Design Type
Your Alchemist child
A steady doer who learns by mastering things, guided by a gut yes or no.
In classic Human Design this Type is called the Generator. Quman uses the Quantum Human Design™ name.
Alchemists have lasting energy and love getting good at things. They learn in steps: a fast start, then a flat stretch where nothing seems to improve, then a jump forward. Their gut answers before their head does.
How they decide
They need something to respond to. Their gut answers with a sound: "uh-huh" for yes, "uh-uh" for no.
Try: Ask yes/no questions and listen for the sound, not the words. Let them make the sounds even if you were taught they're rude.
What makes them feel loved
To be heard. Not being listened to or recognized can make them feel less loved.
What helps
- Lots of yes/no questions, about choices big and small.
- Remind them of past times they stuck with something and broke through.
- When they're frustrated, get them moving first (a walk, a ball, the dog), then talk about what's next.
- New challenges and things to learn.
What to avoid
- Fixing their frustration for them. It's theirs to work through.
- Making them stick with things that aren't theirs to do. They wear out and start avoiding them.
- Pushing your idea of success onto them.
When they're discouraged
What it looks like: Frustration.
What it usually means: They've hit a flat stretch in their learning, or they're doing something that isn't right for them.
How to talk to them
Use: Yes/no questions. You can guide them through a whole set of choices this way. Avoid: Long open-ended statements.
Stuck and frustrated. Try saying:
You seem frustrated. Are you frustrated?
Do you need a break?
Do you want to come back to it tomorrow?
Type is one part of your child's chart
Two Alchemist children can still be very different. Your child's report adds the rest of their chart and their age:
- How they make decisions, from their own chart
- Their profile and all nine centers: where they're steady and where they pick up the mood of the house
- What's normal at their age right now
- 3 scripts matched to their Type, and 3 Ask questions for this week's problems
Human Design isn't backed by scientific studies. Use this as a way to try something different, then trust what you see in your own child.
